Generating Pallet Tags
In accordance with Milestone 6 of the Produce Traceability Initiative, SG Systems has developed a Pallet Tag.
The Tag can be printed in various formats (paper, labels, etc.) and the label generation software can run on a variety of hardware options, such as:
- Regular Desktop PC’s
- Vantage Touch Screen Terminals
- Hand Held Computers / Scanners
The software can connect to floor scales to input actual skid values (minus pre-set tare weights) to obtain the net and gross weights.
Received weights from the Pallet Tag can be imported into your ERP System in real-time to deliver accurate visibility.
The Pallet Tag features a barcode. This barcode can be scanned at the point of entry to the line or during the packing process to carry the traceability forward.
Various sizes of label can be produced and the layout and content is user-friendly and customizable.
The 4 x 3” Compact Label illustrates a smaller label which can be applied to the pallet itself, usually on 1 or more sides.
The size of the Pallet Tag is a preference only for visibility purposes. The PTI milestones are more concerned about the content of the label than the size and placement of the tag. |
